| Biography/History | Anton Nelson was born in Denmark in 1868. His parents moved the family to Albert Lea, Minn. when he was only 9 years old. He married Julia Morken in 1888. The couple moved to Kent, Wash. to homestead. In 1900, the Nelsons and their 3 children Amanda, Inez, and Florence moved to Litchville, N.D. Later, 3 more children, Alice, Roy, and Guy were born. Originally, the Nelsons homesteaded, but Anton later opened a restaurant in Litchville, and also worked as a night watchman in Marian, and an elevator man. Anton died in 1944 and Julia died in 1905. |
