| Description | This contemporary photograph of the Bagg Bonanza Farm near Mooreton North Dakota shows farm implements in the foreground and several of the buildings in the background. From left to right the buildings can be identified as the storage shed, granary, and sheep barn. The storage shed was moved to the site in the 1920's and features a rectangular plan, gable roof with wood shingles, and shiplap siding. The granary has a saltbox-type roof with wood shingles and shiplap siding. It was left on the site from the farm previously owned by Mr. Lenzen before Bagg's acquisition of land. The sheep barn has a full monitor roof with wood shingles, shiplap siding, machinery door and gable vents on east and west sides. This was moved to the site in the 1920's. The implements appear to be a cultivator and a hay rake. A blue sky offsets the brown of the fall grass in the foreground. |

| Biography/History | The Bagg Bonanza Farm is located one mile south and one half mile east of Mooreton, North Dakota. Situated on the flat flood plain of the Red River of the North it was established by F.A. Bagg in 1915. He had previously been the supervisor at the Downing Bonanza Farm and acquired some of the buildings for his farm from the Downing and other farms in the area. The Bagg Bonanza Farm is an important representation of the farming history of North Dakota's Red River plain. It is a well preserved example of the scale and organizational structure of bonanza farms. The farm was listed in the National Register of Historic Places 1985/11/14. |
