Biography/HistoryJohn Miller was a bonanza farmer in the Red River Valley before being persuaded to run for the position of North Dakota's first governor. He served one term from 1889-1891 before returning to the farming and milling business. He was a partner in the Chaffee-Miller Milling Company.
