Biography/HistoryThe Selkirk was built by James J. Hill and Alexander Griggs in 1870. In 1872 they merged with Norman Kittson to form the Red River Transportation Line. In 1882, flooding raised water more than 40 feet above the low water mark, submerging the normal landing.
