| Biography/History | The Shields hotel was in the building at 15 7th Street S., from 1922 to 1942 when the Y.W.C.A. took over the building. It was owned by David W. Shields. The building was originally built in 1886 for The Argus newspaper; it became The Martin hotel in 1895, followed by the Prescott Hotel in 1901. The building was torn down in 1977. |
