| Biography/History | Nancy Smith was born at Stanton, Minnesota on January 28, 1878. She grew up in Wabasso, Minnesota until she was 22, when she came to North Dakota with her parents. She homesteaded in June 1904 in SW. 1/2, Sec. 12, Township 138, Range 105 in Golden Valley County, near Sentinel Butte. In 1906 she married John Hollenbeck, and together they had four children. John worked as a rural mail carrier. John died on Dec. 19, 1932 and Nancy died on Feb. 17, 1974. |
