| Biography/History | Lynn J. Frazier was born at Medord, Minn. on Dec. 21, 1874. In 1881 he came with his parents to North Dakota, living on a farm near Hoople, N.D. He graduated from the State Normal School in Mayville, N.D. in 1895 and the University of North Dakota in 1902. he married Lottie J. Stafford in 1903. Together they raised five children, Unie, Versie, Vernon, Willis and Lucille. Lottie Stafford was born near Hamilton, Ontario in 1876 and in 1882 the family moved to Pembina County, N.D. Frazier farmed the family farm. In 1916 he was elected North Dakota governor, endorsed by the Nonpartisan League and reelected in 1918 and 1920. In 1921 he was removed from office through recall election. He served as North Dakota Senator from 1923 to 1940. Mrs. Frazier died in 1935 at Washington, D.C. In 1937 he married long-time friend Catherine (Behrens) Paulson of Concrete, N.D. Lynn Frazier died at Riverdale, Maryland on January 11. 1947. After his death Catherine Frazier returned to the Paulson farm near Concrete where she died in 1955. |
