Transcription"2nd house Killdeer" - Handwritten on photo album page.
"My grandmother working in garden patch, Killdeer, N.D. This is the rear view of my grandparents first home. I'm wondering if she isn't picking small cucumbers for pickling judging from the ground vines and small leaves. My father was born 1924 and they moved here in 1921. My guess is that this was before my father was born. My grandfather probably thought this was funny. My grandmother came from a well-to-do cultured household and my grandfather photographed many pictures of my grandmother doing manual labor and joking about it in the caption. My grandmother was always good-natured about this and always a good worker and partner to my grandfather." - Information provided by granddaughter, Polly Musacchia.
