| Biography/History | Seven of the children of James McCarty died in their Fargo home following a tornado or severe storm that struck the city early on July 7. Only the mother survived, while Mr. McCarty had died only three weeks earlier. Two daughters, Laura and Katie, were out of town at the time of the storm. The funeral took place on July 8th. |
