| Biography/History | The Ten Commandments Monolith at the International Peace Gardens was presented by the Fraternal Order of Eagles. It was dedicated by Charlton Heston as part of a promotion for the motion picture "The Ten Commandments" on June 10, 1956, in front of a gathering of around 5, 000 people. Similar monuments were placed around the country at the time by the Eagles, with their goal to familiarizing young people with the virtues of the basic laws. |
