| Biography/History | Anna Hensel was born in 1834 at Leipzig, Bessarabia, Russia. She came to the United States in 1901.She homesteaded in Hettinger County in 1903 near her daughter and son-in-law who had come earlier. She proved up her claim in 1910. In 1914 she moved to Washington to be near her daughter where she died at age 93. Marie Hensel married Michael Treichel and they lived near Elgin until Marie, a widow, moved to her mother's farm south of Bentley, N.D. |
