| Notes | Title provided by staff. Peter Schreiner, highway department employee, was struck by a Milwaukee mixed train while he was driving a 13-ton road patrol. Parts of the $6,810 machine, in service for only two weeks, were strewn along the tracks 235 feet from the crossing. Original photograph altered for publication with white and black inks. |
| Biography/History | Peter Schreiner was born 26 Aug 1883 at Rockville, Minn., near St. Cloud. Died 18 Oct 1945, Fargo, N. D. Married to Louise Zellner, 1905 in St. Cloud, Minn. Children left were son, Leo and daughter, Mrs. Ben Faber, and four grandchildren. Mr. Schreiner, who was 62 at the time of his death, had entered employment of the Cass County Highway Department in 1922. |
