In 1902 she and several siblings homesteaded in North Dakota in Maryland Township, Ward County. While homesteading she also taught at local schools. After proving up her claim in 1907 she married Norwegian immigrant Knut K. Hall who had homesteaded on adjoining land. They lived on their farm and raised five children. He died in 1927 and she in 1951.
