| Biography/History | Mary Belle Hanson was born in 1876 at Blooming Prairie, Minnesota of Norwegian immigrants Mads & Belle Hanson of Stjørdahl, Norway. The family moved to Benson County, N.D. where Mary Belle homesteaded in 1897 in Beaver Township. She proved up her land in 1902. She married Olof Pierson who lived nearby. He was born in 1868 in Sweden. They farmed in Beaver Township and raised their family. Mary Belle died in 1940 and Olof in 1948. |
