Biography/History
Ivertha
Bjerka
was
born
in
1879
in
Norway
and
came
to the
United
States
in
1900.
She
married
Jeremias
Johnson
, also a
Norwegian
immigrant
, in
1902.
He had
homesteaded
earlier
in
Ward
County
and she
homesteaded
in
1901
and
got
title
to the
land
in
1904.
Jeremias
came
to the
United
States
in
1882.
They
raised
nine
children.
Ivertha
died
in
1958
and he in
1940.
