| Biography/History | James (Jens) and Hanna (Boesen) Anderson homesteaded in 1899 in Carter Township, Burke County near Flaxton, N.D. (at the time of the initial filing the land was part of Ward County). Mr. Anderson was born in Denmark in 1870 and came to America in 1891. He died shortly after homesteading and was buried in Minot, N.D. Mrs. Anderson was born in 1877 in Norway and came to America in 1893. They were married circa 1896 and had two children.
