| Biography/History | Clara Blegen was born in 1879 at Stewartville, Minnesota to Norwegian immigrants. The family moved to Churchs Ferry, N.D. and she homesteaded in Rice Township, Rolette County, N.D. in 1900. She gained title to the land in 1905 and married Edward Odegard in 1905. Edward was born in 1882 in Krodsherad, Norway and came to America circa 1901. Edward and Clara lived on the farm until 1934 when they moved to Hatton, N.D. until circa 1945-1946 when they returned to northern North Dakota. Edward died in 1962. She died in 1974. |
