| Biography/History | Hotel built originally as the Waldorf Hotel in 1899, and name changed to Earle Hotel close to time of fire. The four alarm fire started about 7 a.m., Thursday December 13, 1951, in the northwest corner of the third floor. Three people were killed, former Fargo postmaster Winfield S. Hooper, age 79; Mabel A. Sampson, age 76, and Catherine Morton, age 84. |
