| Biography/History | "Clay County Courthouse, 1953-54, Foss and Company, 807 11th Street N. A period piece of architectural fashion from the 1950s and 1960s, the courthouse is a three-story rectangular box composed of horizontal bands of windows and brick broken at the second-floor level by a solid stucco box that is cantilevered over the windows and doors below. This stucco box projection, with its lettering, and the entrance terrace below herald the building as dignified and civic rather than commercial."
