Biography/HistoryFiorello LaGuardia, director general of UNRRA, and Clinton Anderson, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture came to the Red River Valley April 26-27, 1946 to encourage farmers to sell their wheat, as part of an effort to shore up food shortages in countries ravaged by World War II. After Fargo, N.D. the officials made their way to Climax, Minnesota.
