Denn meine Frau ist immer noch nicht heim und ich auch nicht wohl bin hoffe das wir Zum nechsten Abendmahl dort sein koennen." - handwritten on back of postcard in German transcribed as "July the 31st Dear Stading Siblings, We received your warm invitation [that arrived] in good shape, but I am very sorry that, again, I cannot accept it.
