Transcription"The Christmas Tree is bolted down securely. Attached to the top of the casing of the well, the tree is an assortment of flowline connections, pressure gauges and chokes, or valves, which regulate the flow. The name comes from the branch-like projections; a high-pressure well may have a tree many feet high." - Caption printed with image in article"Pressure Kept Under Control at Every Step", by Lloyd Sveen, Fargo Forum and Daily Tribune, Oct. 19, 1952, p. 16.
