| Transcription | "My dear Kate - Will just drop a line. Rec'd a card sometime ago from Mary that Alois was very sick and he wrote since that he is getting weaker & loosing flesh and begins to give up hopes. I'd like to go down still I could not help him any. I feel so bad for him can't get over it for awhile after I see him so I really do not think now that he will ever get well ever since he got back from Rochester. I'd feel better if he felt different towards some of the folks. Marie. We have our first snow eve of 9. Had to hustle to get my crop under shelter. Cold to." - Handwritten on back of postcard, postmarked from Lansford, N.Dak. Oct 13, 1909. Addressed to Mrs. Geo. Ciperlie, Amherst, Wis. |
