| Biography/History | "The banner was hung on the De Mores Hotel on January 6, 1896, as a result of a trial that occurred in Bismarck the previous month. Two individuals from Billings County were acquitted of a murder, which occurred some 20 miles north of Medora. 'May You Roast In Hell Hutch' refers to the jury foreman whose name was Hutchinson. Some Medora-area residents were obviously not happy with the verdict." - Caption with photo taken from Images of America Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park, 2007, by Gary Lippart, p. 17. |
