| Biography/History | Jacob Steinwand was born in Bessarabia, Russia July 20, 1885 to Johannes and Elizabeth Steinwand. He immigrated to America in 1905 and settled at Wing, N.D. Jacob married in 1907 Regina Weber, also an immigrant from Bessarabia, Russia in 1903. Her family also settled at Wing. They moved to Garrison, N.D. in 1908 where they farmed and raised their family of twelve children. They moved into Garrison in 1939 and fully retired in 1944. Regina died there in 1977 and Jacob in 1979. |
