| Description | Interview conducted by Allen Spiker at the home of Alvina and Emil Bollinger, likely in their kitchen at Temvik, N.D. on April 28, 1979. After Alvina provides very brief biographical background, the remainder of the interview consists of her pronouncing words and speaking various phrases in German as asked by Spiker. Mr. Bollinger only says a few words at the very beginning of the interview and is not heard during the pronunciation portion. | Biography/History | Emil Bollinger was born May 8, 1904 in North Dakota to German Russian immigrants. Wife Alvina was born June 16, 1914 at Medina, N.D., also to German Russian immigrants. They were married circa 1930 and lived in the Temvik, N.D. area since 1937. Emil died in 1983 and Alvina in 2000. |
