Transcription"No drastic change in 71 years has been made in the governor's house in Bismarck, although when built by Asa Fisher the house did not have the first and second story screened porches. They were added after the house was bought by the state. The building was heated by a lignite-burning furnace until two years ago, when the heating system was changed to burn gas. A building at the rear of the house, at one time a barn, was converted into a dwelling. It is occupied by the governor's chauffeur." - caption with image published in The Fargo Forum, February 13, 1955, p. 16.
