| Transcription | "Hit hardest by the flooding Buffalo River was the village of Hawley, Minn., where floodwaters poored over U. S. Highway 10 and through and around several homes and a business place. This picture was taken looking north over Hawley. Highway 10 is flooded to the right of the railroad overpass. Just above the Riverside Inn are the houses and house trailers affected by the flood. The Hawley Park, below Highway 10, is completely flooded." - caption with image published in The Fargo Forum, August 7, 1955, p. B-6. |
