Transcription"The Northwestern states are paying huge toll to the power of Big Business. Crops are marketed under a system controlled by speculators all the way from Minneaoplis terminals to the seaboard. Millions are made annually in gambling on the grain, all of which comes out of the pockets of producers and consumers. Railroads milk the country and pour their money into Wall street and a huge profit is paid to the masters of great corporations which supply the Northwest with manufactured articles it consumes. A banking oligarchy dominated in eastern cities gathers an immense profit out of the necessities of the farmers, waxing the fattest from usurious interest rates in crop-failure years. The remedy? Use the power of the ballot to break the chains of servitude to Big Business, which perpetuates its rule by control of state governments." - Caption below cartoon.
