DescriptionThis photograph features a threshing crew in rural Mercer County, N.D. At left, the steam engine is positioned. A long belt stretches from the steam engine to the combine pictured at center. The men throw the grain into the combine where the stems will be separated from the heads. The grain is then put into the wagon situated on the viewers side of the combine. At right, the auger discards the stems and other unwanted material.
