| Biography/History | Using a photograph of Lincoln and Tad taken at Mathew Brady's studio in 1864 as the basis of his design, painter F. Schell added Mary and Robert, in his Union army uniform, to the image. The framed picture at the top right is of Willie. This painting then was used as a basis for an image that was printed in black and white. |
