| Transcription | "Enos Stutsman, 1826-1874, Lived in Illinois in 1835. Was a neighbor of Abraham Lincoln's father. He made final proof to a claim near Yankton in 1862, the 106th Made in Dakota Territory. He had one leg that was 14 inches long. He could not stand or walk without crutches. He was an attorney and Government employee. TB caused his death in January, 1874 at Pembina, D.T."--Printed on card next to photograph. |
