| Biography/History | View of Jamestown, N.D. probably taken from the court house, looking out. You can see Jamestown College in the distance on the hill top, Old Main (third from left), the Library (third from right) and the Sanford girl's dormitory which was built in 1910 (second from left), and probably Taber Hall, built in 1913, on the far left. The Thaw Memorial Library, a gift of Mrs. William Thaw of Pittsburgh, was completed in 1912. Originally, the basement of the library was equipped as a gymnasium, but when the Memorial gymnasium was finished in 1923 (which is not in the picture/ had not been built yet), the basement of the library was remodeled for academic classrooms. |
