First airport was where Joe Wokal's house was in 1993, when hiway overpass put in the airport was moved west of town. Flew Pregnant women to hospital in winter"—Handwritten on tap 3A. Wilbur Brewer- first ride in plane by washing planes. First airport was where Joe Wokal's house is 1993. Sagmiller hunted coyotes with plane. Some early flyers had some bootlegging with plane. Joe was in WWII and bought a plane and rented it and flyer wrecked the plane. Cost $1, 200 used for by-plane. Several women took flying lessons from Joe and Vic Wokal. Skison planes in bad winter to deliver mail and groceries, and pregnant women to doctors. Baby boom years. Flew Dr. to ranch and then to take off at dark tractor made track and flew patient to Dickinson"—Handwritten on tape 3B. |
