| Biography/History | The Frost Festival was an annual, weeklong celebration for the students at Bismarck Junior College. It was initiated in 1965 when the school board eliminated the football program. The Frost Festival took the place of homecoming. The celebrations included dances, ice sculptures, contests, a variety show, a Frost Festival Queen competition, and a day of winter sports at Twilight Hills, now Huff Hills Ski Area. This photograph was collected by Herb Schimmelpfenning who was an administrator at the college. He left the collection with the college and it was discovered after his death.
