The Board held personal interviews relative to the presidency of Dickinson Normal School with the following gentlemen, who appeared in response to the Board's request: Superintendent S T May, Madison, South Dakota. N C Abbott, Havre, Montana. Clyde R Travis, Mayville, North Dakota. John E Stout, Chicago, Illinois. Vernon L Mangun, Macomb, Illinois. J A Wiggers, Elkhart, Indiana. W E Gordon, Fort Wayne, Indiana. R H Jordan, Minneapolis, Minnesota. R W Fairchild, Stevens Point Wisconsin. I T Johnsrud, Sacred Heart, Minnesota. R E Manchester, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Messrs. Garland A Bricker, of Syracuse University, Paul F Voelker, of the University of Wisconsin, and M A Wilkinson, of the Mayville Normal School, were unable to appear before the Board. Superintendent S T May, of Madison, South Dakota, was unanimously elected President of the Dickinson Normal School at a salary of $3 000 00 per year, and Secretary Liessman was directed to notify Superintendent May of his election. Mr. Crawford was appointed a committee to interview the trustees of the Elks' building at Dickinson relative to the renting of that building for school purposes."--Printed on front of image. |
