Biography/HistoryJohn Hunter moved to the Egeland area around 1906. He was skilled at stone masonry. As a result, he helped build the first jail in Egeland. It was created from stone with a wooden door. Iron bars were placed in the windows. This jail was referred to as Jack's Place.
