| Biography/History | Sever Reiten born Jan. 26, 1857, in Tyldalen, Osterdalen, Norway … in 1882, Sever and 4 of his brothers came to what was known as Sand Prairie in Ransom County. He took a preemption. In 1884 he was married to Gertrude Brandvold, who was born in Lille Elvedalen Norway, and came to Lisbon, ND. In 1885 the Reitens sold their preemption and took a homestead in Spring Creek Township, Barnes County. They had seven children, including Ole who operated a hardware store in Hastings. |
