| Biography/History | Elmer Elsworth Barry was a businessman born in Manvel, Dakota Territory on August 7, 1886, son of James M and Elizabeth Ann (McAdam). He married Mathilda J. Moris of Pembina, N.D. on November 27, 1919 and they had two daughters, Frances (Mrs. Stephen Zirko) and Margaret (Mrs. Harry L. Cummings). Elmer Elsworth Barry received his education from the North Dakota public schools. He worked as a blacksmith, mechanic, steam engineer, garage owner and car dealer. From 1904-1911 he was the clerk of the School District. From 1940-1942 the county justice and from 1935-1960 he was the US commissioner for the District of ND Pembina. He served in WWI. Elmer Barry died in 1972 in Pembina County, N.D. |
