The back wall is full of shelves and drawers that contain canned goods stacked in pyramids, and goods in small boxes and bottles. There are signs at the top of the wall that say, "Cash the master, credit the slave. Home maple syrup is pure. Small profits make friends. Bengal brand is extra choice. Where we buy or sell, Cash Talks. Pay as you go BUY where you lie, Schweitzers satisfaction baking powder, Cheese… as the Best. Baked beans, table peaches Bengal brand, Bengal apricots, Pineapple home brand, Salmon Bengal brand, Salmon …, Laundry Starch all kinds, none better, tomatoes, sugar corn, peas, Home backed beans, Bengal white cherries, Bengal peaches, home pineapple, Bengal brand plums, home brand salmon, and home brand soups. Other signs on the shelves or counter say, "2 in 1 shoe polish, Nut Meats, Lanpher caps, Bengal Brand, Schepp's, Minute Tapioca, and One pound Tea." Canned goods say, "Peas, White cherries, tomato soup, ox tail soup, chicken soup, Salmon, Stork Salmon, oyster, baking …" |
